It goes without saying that 2020 brought many unique challenges to our industry however in my opinion, it also offered a huge opportunity for us to improve the way we work.

Having recently celebrated 30 years of service with Wolseley, it’s safe to say I have welcomed many changes to the business over the years however I struggle to think of one welcomed more warmly by our customers than the decision to rebrand to the iconic Wolseley Pipe name.

Over the last 3 decades, I have worked in many roles and understand how important it is to our customers to receive exquisite service and have a merchant that is understandings of your challenges. For me, there are several key enablers to providing a great service.

In my role as Regional Operations Director, I am driving my teams to ensure they have the knowledge to help you win more projects and provide the service to ensure the work you do win runs smoothly. In addition to core knowledge and empathy of the challenges you face, you want to deal with people that care. The key to this is engaging Wolseley Pipe colleagues, at all levels, with the brand and ensuring they know that the support they need to excel in their own roles is readily available. As part of this, we are continuously upskilling our colleagues and offer regular training to ensure you always deal with someone that truly cares.

Through strong relationships with the world’s leading suppliers, we are also able to introduce customers to the very latest technologies and innovations which offer savings on time and labour, improved efficiencies and better energy saving credentials – benefits that can be passed on to your own customers.

The other crucial thing for me is the availability of products. In addition to introducing our core range, which you can read more about here, we have and will continue to closely monitor market trends to ensure availability of product is never an issue in our branches. Coronavirus and Brexit have cast some uncertainty over many of the UK’s supply chains however we work in conjunction with suppliers, who in turn work with architects, to understand exactly what products are specified on particular projects to ensure we always have them in stock. We are confident that our supplies are plentiful and our foresight will mean supply issues do not occur across any product range. For added reassurance however, we have also increased our stock in all branches to factor in any unexpected interruptions.

2021 is set to be a great year for Wolseley Pipe and we will continue to ensure our business is here to support you in securing and delivering successful projects.
